What You'll Do:

As an Audit & Assurance Accountant, you will assist in auditing financial statements of both for-profit companies and non-profit organizations as well as preparing reviewed and compiled financial statements. This position will also have an opportunity to gain experience in corporate and individual tax along with various accounting and consulting projects.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Assists with financial statement audits by performing auditing procedures in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, held at local client locations or remotely using cloud-based technology.
  • Assists with reviewed financial statement engagements.
  • Prepares compiled financial statements from information provided by clients.
  • Assists with the preparation of financial statements.
  • Assists clients with month end reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Provides support and assistance to the tax department.
  • Assists with various accounting, tax, and consulting projects.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: 2+ years of progressive financial auditing experience preferred; some corporate or business tax experience would be a plus.
  • Certification(s): CPA preferred; or willing to work towards obtaining a CPA license.
  • Functional Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and come to logical conclusions; strong attention to detail and able to follow processes well; experience in moving from project to project with ease; ability to work well within tight deadlines; solid financial reporting skills
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Solid background with software systems, with advanced skills in Excel and Word. Able to work with paperless systems.
  • Language Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact well with clients, leaders, and team members on a regular basis.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Very approachable and flexible; requires someone who is a life-long learner, compliance-oriented and self-directed; client-focused, process/project driven, with the ability to collaborate and be a solid team player

Other Important Information:

Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise and is negotiable.

Reports To: Assurance Senior Associate or Manager

Core Hours: 8:00 am 5:00pm; flexibility within these core hours to meet the job requirements

Typical Work Week: M-F; day on Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, when work allows; 50-60 hours a week including Saturdays during busy season (January 1 through April 15)

Direct Reports: n/a

Work Conditions: Comfortable and beautiful office environment; works offsite at clients as well

Travel: Uses vehicle to travel to clients in the area (local travel; no overnight travel!)
