What You'll Do:

 

As the Controller, you will lead, manage, and support the overall accounting/financial area, including reporting, analysis and financial/inventory systems for the company to ensure the departmental goals are met.

 

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

 

  • Manages and provides concise, accurate and timely financial reporting regarding profit and loss, balance sheet, sales, costs, inventory/asset management, budgeting, etc. ensuring financial information is understood by management and relevant staff.
  • Manages and maintains the credit and cash requirements, policies and process to ensure a positive cash position for the company.
  • Manages and oversees the daily processes and procedures for the Accounting area, ensuring the information and system data is accurate and timely updated.
  • Leads, mentors and trains the accounting team, providing direction on priorities, resolution of day to day obstacles, and ensuring team development toward department and organizational goals.
  • Develops, creates, maintains and enforces cost effective internal financial controls, policies, procedures, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with required Finance/Accounting principles or regulations.

Position Requirements:

 

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; may consider an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of progressive Accounting management and Leadership experience.
  3. Certification(s): CPA
  4. Functional Skills: Excellent knowledge of accounting/financial processes, principles and compliance factors. Strong ability to manage cash and credit requirements as well as related bank reporting. Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and review data to analyze trends, solid problem-solving capabilities, and reporting/summation skills are also required. Strong business acumen with an ability to learn and understand the business goal. Detail oriented with excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills are also important for this role.
  5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Excellent Excel and Word skills, and solid familiarity with ERP systems, query tools and report writing are required. Experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains and ConnectWise a plus.
  6. Language Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills; strong ability to mentor/educate with excellent skill to explain and understand financial data to help the team make solid business decisions.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Strong leadership, supportive, able to work independently and make an impact for the business. Collaborative, with an excellent ability to ask solid questions, provide guidance, options or solutions to help move the business goals forward. Strong internal and external customer focus and compliance orientation are also important for this role.

Other Important Information:     

 

Pay/Salary:  Pay is commensurate with proven expertise.  And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Core Hours:   8:00 am 5:00 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8-9 hours within this timeframe)

Typical Work Week:  M-F; 45 hours a week on average

Direct Reports:   3

Travel:   Very limited.
