What You'll Do:

 

As the Director of Manufacturing, you will research, develop, recommend, and implement strategies, processes, and practices to ensure customer and business goals are continually met and/or exceeded.

 

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

 

  • Researches, develops, recommends, and implements strategic goals and actions for the organization to meet or exceed the overall customer and business goals.
  • Cascades Operational goals, actions, and KPI's to each team member to ensure alignment, accountability, and optimization.
  • Reviews data points, budgets, and KPI's to ensure the operational areas are on track; sets up countermeasures, priority actions, and check points with the team leaders, where needed.
  • Analyzes and assesses the short- and long-term manufacturing requirements and capabilities of the equipment, people, and materials to consistently innovate and enhance overall performance for future growth.
  • Drives change through improved organizational capability by providing leadership and mentoring within recruiting, goal alignment, employee development, performance management and communication.
  • Assures policies, procedures, and other documentation are established to provide for consistent and efficient operations within all manufacturing functions
  • Works closely with Supply Chain and the Master Scheduler to ensure the production plan, priorities, resources, and materials are aligned to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Supports business development activities, including potential acquisitions, manufacturing capacity and capability planning, and creation of new products for ongoing business success.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Education: BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Experience: 5+ years of Manufacturing/Operations management and leadership experience, within a mid-size to large company.  Proven and successful KPI and P&L management experience is also required, along with  extensive experience in operational execution regarding On-Time Delivery, Quality, Labor Efficiency, Profitability, Expense Control, Shop Floor Organization and Process Improvements
  • Certifications: Lean and Six Sigma training preferred
  • Functional Skills:  Strategic-thinker, who is a strong analyst and problem solver to help create efficiencies and grow the business.  Based on the large volume, strong planning, prioritization, follow-through and organizational skills are required, with the ability to manage multiple large projects and operations at the same time.  Results-oriented, who is strong in cascading goals and KPI management is also required.  Highly process-oriented to create efficiencies within a large team.  
  • Technology Skills: Proficient with ERP systems and validation of changes, Microsoft Office, and other planning software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present, train, and mentor others; will work with all levels both inside and outside the organization.
  • Leadership/ Behaviors: Strong initiative, high energy, with an entrepreneurial spirit, who is optimistic and can lead, challenge, influence, listen, and motivate large groups to higher levels of success. Strong ability to communicate expectations and delegate challenging work to others, with consistent follow up.  Strong accountability for self and others, with a sense of urgency to get things done; continuous improvement is an on-going key attribute.  The position also requires a strong customer, safety, and quality mindset.

Other Important Information:     

 

Pay/Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. And, there is also Profit Sharing to reward a "job well done"!

 

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

 

Reports To:     VP of Operations                                                                                                                                                                        

Core Hours:   5:00 am 4:00 pm (typical work hours for this role is 7 4:00 pm with extra hours as needed)

Typical Work Week:  M-F; some Saturdays are required (when applicable);  typically, 45 -50 hours a week on average

Direct Reports:  5 Leaders/Managers; a total of 170 team members in Operations
