What You'll Do:

As the Sr. Bolster Machine Operator, you will perform the operation, setup and create the programming of CNC operated machining and tooling in a safe, efficient, and on-time manner.


Your Accountabilities:

  • Performs the safe set up, program creation, and operation of CNC machining and tooling, ensuring production goals are met.
  • Creates tooling offset adjustments and works with vendors on tool selections and testing to ensure tooling needs are met.
  • Operates the Crane with rigging to safely load and unload part into the machine.
  • Performs inspection activities utilizing customized gages to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met.
  • Performs final deburring activities to ensure rough edges of the part are smooth and to meet quality requirements.
  • Performs light machine maintenance as well as monitors, adjusts, and analyzes coolant as needed.
  • Maintains and continuously improves 5S housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.





Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; may consider equivalent course work with proven experience for the right individual.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of setup, programming and operation of CNC machining and tooling within a heavy manufacturing environment, prior overhead crane with rigging experience helpful
  • Certification(s): N/A
  • Functional Skills: Ability to operate, review blueprints and create programs, and set up CNC Machining as well as the Tooling structure/system; good organization skills with an ability to track tool life; an ability to handle and operate heavy equipment; high attention to detail with an ability to read and understand documents, procedures, and specifications along with an ability to utilize special industry gages to inspect large parts and utilize deburring equipment to finish. Light mechanical abilities to maintenance equipment as needed.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Good computer skills with the ability to operate computer numerically controlled equipment.
  • Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: High Safety minded with a strong work ethic and values, focused on the customer, quality, and accuracy, takes the time to do things right yet is flexible to cross-train and move to other priorities throughout the department.

Pay Programs:  Pay is commensurate with proven expertise!

   -  And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To:  Operations Manager  

Core Hours:   Day Shift:   6:00 am - 2:30 pm  Afternoon Shift: 2:00 pm -10:30pm Night Shift: 10 pm -  6:30 am

Typical Work Week:  M-F; some weekends required; 40 45 hours a week on average.

Direct Reports: N/A; Works with other departments as needed.

Travel: None

Work Conditions: Regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise. The employee is regularly required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment such as slip on, inner metatarsal safety toed shoes, face shield, safety glasses with side shield, protective gloves, hard hat, ear plugs, and respiratory protection.  Frequently exposed to hot heat, hot metal, moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The environmental climate is heated in the winter and hot in the summer. Lifting up to 50 lbs. sporadically is also needed.
