What You'll Do:

As the Post-Heat Finish Associate, you will operate the Manipulator and finishing equipment as well as perform activities to prepare part for final inspection and delivery ensuring all area goals are met.

Your Accountabilities:

  • Operates the Manipulator to load/unload heat treat racks and load parts onto monorail for the blasting operation, ensuring a high level of safety and efficiency within the operation.
  • Performs Brinell testing, heat treat lug samples and updates results/data into ERP accurately.
  • Coordinates with MPI (mag particle inspection) operator to ensure parts are analyzed prior to final coating/paint.
  • Coordinates with the machine operator to transfer part of processing.
  • Assembles parts, performs gauging activities, and ensures parts meet quality specifications.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; may consider equivalent course work with proven experience for the right individual.
  • Experience: 2-3+ years' experience within a heavy industry manufacturing environment; prior Crane, Manipulator and Forklift experience helpful but will train.
  • Certification(s): N/A
  • Functional Skills: Ability to handle and operate heavy equipment, special industry gages, tools, instruments, and measurement devices; high attention to detail with an ability to read and understand documents, procedures, and specifications. This role also requires strong prioritization skills, as well as an ability to multi-task and problem-solve issues in a fast-paced environment to meet output goals.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic computers skills; operator interface with equipment; some data entry to enter data into ERP system to record testing results/data.
  • Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: High Safety minded with a strong work ethic and values, focused on the customer, quality, and accuracy, takes the time to do things right yet is flexible to cross-train and move to other priorities throughout the department.

Pay Programs: Pay is commensurate with proven expertise!

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Core Hours: Day Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Afternoon Shift: 2:00 pm -10:30pm Night Shift: 10 pm - 6:30 am

Typical Work Week: M-F; some weekends required; 40 45 hours a week on average.

Direct Reports: N/A; Works with other departments as needed.

Travel: None

Work Conditions: Regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise. The employee is regularly required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment such as metatarsal steel-toed shoes, face shield, helmet, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear plugs. Frequently exposed moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The environmental climate is heated in the winter and hot in the summer. Lifting up to 30-50 lbs. sporadically is also needed.
