Accounting Associate

What You'll Do:
As the Accounting Associate, you will administer, verify, process and support the A/P & A/R areas ensuring the integrity, accuracy, filing, deadlines, and compliance needs are met for the company.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Administers, verifies, processes and supports the A/P & A/R areas, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, filing, deadlines, and compliance needs are met within the processes and systems used.
- Receives, verifies, and processes invoices ensuring invoices match purchase order and the service provider approval process for accurate and timely payment processing.
- Processes, prepares and posts payments to the specific designated accounts timely and accurately.
- Handles daily transactions/reporting for Accounting, ensuring data is accurate and posted correctly.
- Provides "hands on" support to the area as needed to ensure confidential and high priority items are met.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Associates Degree in Business or Accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience: 2+ years of progressive experience in A/P and A/R with data entry experience, with a solid working knowledge of A/P & A/R processes, procedures, and 3-way matching systems.
- Certification(s): N/A
- Functional Skills: Good at reviewing and validating data, highly detail oriented with the ability to research and problem-solve, excellent data entry skills to timely and accurately enter data into ERP/Accounting systems; Strong prioritization and organization skills along with a process focused mindset are needed to perform well in this role. Able to manage multiple priorities effectively to meet department goals and deadlines. Good math skills are also needed.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Solid Microsoft Office Skillset, with a high proficiency in Excel; ability to learn and use ERP systems is also important for this role.
- Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with others effectively via email or on the phone.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Customer-service oriented to support the team and vendors, compliance-oriented, data-focused, who can work independently in a fast-paced environment, dependable, and can handle confidential matters appropriately. Enjoys a high-volume data entry work environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Flexibility and adaptability are also important.

Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.

Core Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Typical Work Week: M-F; 40-45 hours per week
