What You'll Do:

As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you are responsible for managing, leading, and inspiring the manufacturing engineering team to enhance and optimize our product quality and output capabilities in line with business goals.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  1. Develops and executes a vision, roadmap, and operating system to ensure the manufacturing engineering team is able to meet or exceed business goals.
  2. Works with project engineers and Sales & Marketing teams to interpret customer requirements and deliver manufacturable solutions with a goal of increasing profit and market share.
  3. Partners with the manufacturing team, maintenance, and external vendors to develop and execute on customer solutions and cost reductions to ensure annual business goals are met.
  4. Contributes to new business initiatives and projects to ensure an impact on quality & process efficiencies.
  5. Leads, mentors, and coaches the team to think critically and to proactively suggest improvements that lead to cost savings that benefit both ATC and the customer.
  6. Leads, teaches, and develops root cause and corrective action process to ensure all related team members can solve and implement fixes to engineering issues quickly.
  7. Regularly monitors manufacturing process capability standards in an effort to re-engineer and drive improvement initiatives continually across the organization.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; Masters in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in Process Engineering in a metal fabrication and assembly manufacturing, auto, specialty vehicle, or similar environment preferred, with 3 + years of experience leading people.
  • Certification(s):
  • Functional Skills: Strong detail orientation with excellent researching, planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills are required to work effectively in managing various projects. Must be able to take initiative, be forward-thinking, and make solid decisions focused on the goals of the organization. Excellent math and problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively enhance the manufacturing areas. A solid foundational understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing is also preferred.
  • Problem-Solving: Will use broad guidelines and objectives to research, develop, problem-solve, and decide on a Plan of Action.
  • Accountability: Operational/Conceptual integration of activities; diverse in nature; direct impact to business goals.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office experience required along with common data analysis tools, office and software development tools.
  • Language Skills: Advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to present to groups and train others. Able to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts in simple, effective terms.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor a team. Strategic Thinker to proactively anticipate needs and deliver adaptive and sustainable solutions. High-quality minded individual; meticulous with work; safety focused. Able to effectively direct/establish new systems, policies, procedures for a department. Strong collaboration/influencing skills are needed to effectively partner with others, listen to ideas, and implement the best enhancements. Ability to be positive, conceptualize and move forward with projects that are viable and cost effective is also important in this role.

Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. And, there is also Profit Sharing to reward a "job well done"!

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: VP of Engineering

Core Hours: 7:00 am 6:00 pm; 8-9 hours within this timeframe; some flexibility

Typical Work Week: M-F; few Saturdays as needed; typically, 40 -45 hours a week on average

Direct Reports: 5 Manufacturing Engineers

Travel: Limited
