What You'll Do:

As the Director of Supply Chain, you will research, develop, lead, and manage the supply chain strategies and processes, to ensue product quality, cost, and due dates meet or exceed customer and business goals.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  1. Researches, develops, leads and manages the overall supply chain strategy, from purchasing to end product delivery, to ensure high raw material/product quality, at a reasonable cost, and within delivery timelines.
  2. Develops new strategies and supplier agreements to meet or exceed cost budgets and increase alternative sources, product quality, delivery, and value throughout the supply chain process for a sustainable, efficient process.
  3. Leads, trains, mentors and coaches the team to execute activities in a way that will ensure goals are achieved, while growing the skillsets of the team.
  4. Collaborates with sales, operations, finance, and customer service teams for a best practice approach and to ensure the related collective goals are being achieved.
  5. Builds and maintains relationships with vendors, brokers, and freight carriers to handle all issues effectively to ensure products are delivered on-time, within budget and according to customer specifications.
  6. Collaborates with Manufacturing in an effort to create virtual KanBan systems that will monitor and manage production workflows to enhance our ability to distribute materials/product more efficiently.
  7. Manages and leads the Key Business Metrics and budget for the areas of responsibilities, ensuring the team(s) are achieving the monthly goals and/or setting countermeasures and development activities for underperforming areas.
  8. Oversees the inventory and KanBan systems for all locations, ensuring accuracy of processes and data to maximize inventory turns and daily backorders.
  9. Supports other related business and activities for the benefit of the Company, department, and team.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or similar; MBA a plus.
  2. Experience: 7+ years of progressive Supply Chain/Logistics/Purchasing management and leadership experience preferred in a similar auto, trailer, or manufacturing industry. Experience with Supplier Quality metrics and management is also required.
  3. Certifications: N/A
  4. Functional Skills: Strong research, planning, organizing, and execution skills required; forward-thinking with strong analytical and critical thinking ability; strong business acumen to ensure a smooth and effective supply chain process that produces quality products, within cost, and on-time delivery; high attention to details and accuracy with large amounts of data and numbers; strong problem-solver; with a strong ability to conceptualize and create enhancements. Strong understanding of virtual KanBan systems and methodologies. Develops alternate pricing models by leveraging CPI index.
  5. Technology Skills: Solid ability with technology and ERP systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  6. Language Skills: Strong verbal and written skillset; able to present and influence others.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Demonstrates a high customer-service, leadership, and support personality; positive and optimistic; takes initiative and get things done; excellent with data yet personable with others; ability to develop, mentor, and coach others; enjoys and can set parameters to ensure goals are met; has a high level of integrity; continuous learner; able to reflect and make well thought out decisions; some creativity to create enhanced solutions targeted towards business goals. Strong networking, negotiating, and relationship ability to partner with vendors and other personnel. Collaborative with a "hands-on" approach to working with others.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. And, there is also Profit Sharing to reward a "job well done"!

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: VP of Operations

Core Hours: 7:00 am 4:00 pm (with additional hours as needed)

Typical Work Week: M-F; a few Saturdays as needed; typically, 40 -45 hours a week on average

Direct Reports: 30 (Procurement, Sourcing, Logistic Mgr., Master Scheduler)

Travel: Limited
