What You'll Do:

As the Sr. Business Development Manager, you will research, develop, direct, and execute a comprehensive internal and external business plan to build sales, market share, and profit margins. This would include the development of business models, comprised of reviewing, analyzing, and directing the creation/elimination of certain products tied to market demands.

Your Accountabilities In The Role:

  • Performs market research and analysis to align associated business/market/ product plans with sales and gross profit goals.
  • Establishes and creates market alliances for key partnerships, including set up of contracts/agreements, to ensure they are in line with the business plan objectives.
  • Maintains on-going strong partnerships and alliances with key customers, vendors, opinion leaders, and other influential leaders in the associated market to maintain the brand and create a successful product and service rollout.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Leadership Team on the market trends and competitive landscape, providing a conceptual strategy for the annual business planning process.
  • Leads and executes on the Sales and Marketing initiatives with the team to ensure business goals are understood, reviewed and carried out to meet annual business goals.
  • Manages the comprehensive training and communication of product details, value streams, and other strategic action plans to ensure associated team members (i.e., Sales, Product Development, Customer Service) are prepared for implementation and rollout in new markets.
  • Collaborates with the marketing/product development team to arrange and facilitate technically oriented group presentations around new products at tradeshows, social media, seminars/webinars, etc., in effort to influence overall market growth.
  • Develops and maintains complete and up-to-date files on all activity, contracts, and contacts to drive business development opportunities.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. An MBA would be a plus.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in leading the sales, marketing, product development and customer service areas within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Certification(s):
  • Functional Skills: Strategic thinker with the ability to research, develop, plan and execute on Business Development initiatives. Excellent prioritization, analytical, and organizational skills, with a strong financial acumen to manage the departmental budget and execute on business development forecasts, metrics, summations and detailed BD/profitability information on an ongoing basis; also has the proven expertise in analyzing the market and trends, taking appropriate actions to achieve profitability goals.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficient PC skills, MS Office and CRM systems experience needed.
  • Language Skills: Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to present to groups and train others in product features.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Self-motivated, self-starters who have a background of managing their work/results on their own; requires excellent collaboration and networking skills. Demonstrates a high customer-service, leadership, and support personality; positive and optimistic; takes initiative and get things done; ability to develop, mentor, and coach others; enjoys and can set parameters to ensure goals are met; has a high level of integrity; continuous learner; able to reflect and make well thought out decisions; some creativity to create enhanced solutions targeted towards business goals. Strong negotiating, and relationship ability to partner with vendors and other personnel.

Other Important Information:

Position Status & Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven experience. Will be base and commission based.

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: CEO

Core Hours: Monday Friday; 7:00 am 6:00 pm; working 9 hours within that time frame; some additional hours for sales & traveling

Direct Reports: 9 (Sales, Product Development, Branding, and Customer Service)

Travel: Up to 30% travel is required

Work Conditions: Office environment with some time spent in Operations as needed.
