What You'll Do:

As the QA Manager, you will research, plan, lead, and execute initiatives within the Quality department to ensure zero defects and on time delivery each and every time.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Reviews, plans, creates, and updates the Quality System procedures to ensure they align to the AS9100 guidelines and customer specifications.
  • Reviews inspection processes and provides information, training, and support to create zero defects within the processes.
  • Prepares, performs, and reviews internal audits throughout the year to eliminate any non-conformities during the annual AS9100 audit.
  • Reviews and creates modifications to processes to ensure 100% compliance with customer specifications and AS9100 regulations.
  • Leads, manages, and mentors the team to continually grow their competencies for mutual team member and business growth.
  • Reviews bill of materials to ensure they are accurate based on approved raw materials qualified for use.
  • Maintains organized and secure document control systems and files to maintain the integrity of the business.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations, Quality, Compliance, or related field; will consider a combination of coursework and experience.

Experience: 3+ years of progressive Quality Assurance experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry preferred; will consider other high-compliance business sectors.

Certifications: AS9100/Six Sigma Black Belt would be a plus.

Functional Skills: Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and execution skills; excellent skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing work, and follow-up to meet business goals; high ability to research and implement changes; excellent with reviewing large amounts of data and attention to detail; able to read, review, and compare blue prints, procedures, and plans to ensure quality and compliance.

Technical Aptitude/PC/Other: Advanced Microsoft Office skills required; experience with ERP systems would be a plus. Strong technical ability to setup and maintain secure document control systems.

Language Skills: Advanced verbal and written communication skill; able to present ideas and train others.

Leadership/Behaviors: Excellent leadership, managing, mentoring, and influencing skills required; strong motivation and ability to manage work and self independently; excellent ability to collaborate with teams and individuals to get more done; high-compliance personality.

Other Important Information:

Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: President

Core Hours: 7:00 am 3:30 pm, with some additional hours

Typical Work Week: M-F; with some Saturdays and overtime hours where applicable

Direct Reports: 2

Travel: limited; less than 10%
