What You'll Do:

As the Safety Manager, you will research, plan, manage, and administer the Company safety programs and training, as well as other regulatory compliance reporting, testing and tracking to ensure the company is providing a continually safe and compliant workplace.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Researches, plans, manages, and executes on Safety policies and initiatives to ensure a continually safe and compliant workplace.
  • Creates, plans, manages, and executes the Company's Annual Safety Program and facilitates the Safety Orientation and ongoing training for all employees to ensure compliance and reduce workplace injuries.
  • Creates and encourages a high level of safety awareness and visibility within the company to reduce injuries.
  • Researches, plans, manages and updates the emergency preparedness policies to ensure contingency plans are in place for critical or mass situations.
  • Manages the hazardous material and related Personal Protective Equipment/Safety programs to ensure safe use and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
  • Performs daily walk-throughs to monitor, mentor, and enhance safety practices throughout the various locations.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Operations, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience: 3 + years of direct Safety and OSHA/DOT management experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Certification(s): OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred
  • Functional Skills: Excellent forward-thinking, researching planning, prioritization, organization and execution skills required; excellent ability to analyze, determine facts, problem-solve, follow-through, and good time management skills; excellent with math, managing to KPI's, and reviewing large amounts of complex data to draw conclusions.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficient with software systems and Microsoft Office required.
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present, mentor, and train others; will work with all levels both inside and outside the organization.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Strong customer-focus, with initiative, high energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit; requires a strong work ethic who can balance Safety with practical work needs; able to work independently and within teams; strong influencing and collaboration skills; conceptual ability to make enhancements to the Safety practices; strong sense of urgency to get things done. Passionate ownership of safety initiatives and results.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: Pay is commensurate with proven expertise.

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: VP of Human Resources

Core Hours: 7:00 am 4:00 pm

Typical Work Week: M-F; occasional Saturdays (when applicable); typically, 40-45 hours a week on average
