What You'll Do:

As the Welder, you will weld emergency vehicle components according to predetermined specifications to ensure each vehicle meets the required standards and is safe for customer use.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • You will prepare the chassis by welding new components and key components together, then on to the chassis to ensure the chassis is properly prepared for the next stage.
  • You will weld the side walls, floors, and doors using jigs for each piece to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • You will grind down welded portions of walls, floors, doors, and frames to create a smooth finish.
  • You will adhere aluminum sheets to the inside and outside of welded frames and place them into a laminate bag for compression and full adherence.
  • You will weld windows, roofs, and door frames onto the vehicle ensuring accuracy of welds and stability of overall structure.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A HS Diploma or GED preferred; will consider an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 1+ years of aluminum welding experience in automotive, manufacturing, construction, or similar industry.
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Functional Skills: Solid aluminum welding skills; strong attention to detail with the ability to read, understand, and apply processes, specifications, and blueprints; basic math and counting skills; able to self-inspect work and implement corrections where needed.
  • Technology Skills: N/A
  • Language Skills: Basic reading, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Strong work ethic and values; dependable and self-motivated; solid focus on the customer and processes; able to work independently and within a team environment; able to multi-task and flexible to move to priorities throughout welding areas; safety-minded.
  • Culture Match Behaviors: Respectful of team members and policies, goal and customer-focused; has the ability to stay focused on quality, as well as producing and enhancing efficiencies within the team. Requires an excellent work ethic to lead by example.

Other Important Information:

Pay: Hourly base rate plus additional hourly bonus based on performance and attendance incentives

Reports To: Team Lead

Core Hours: 5:00 am 1:30 pm

Typical Work Week: Monday Friday; some weekend work; 40-45 hours a week on average
