What You'll Do:

As a Business Development Manager, you will research, plan, qualify and sell customized retractable pergolas, glass wind barriers, and enclosures to the residential pools and patio markets. You will additionally sell systems to the restaurant patio market. The success of this role is measured on meeting or exceeding revenue and profit goals.

Your Accountabilities In The Role:

  1. Researches the market, plans focused activities, sources new customers, and follows up on leads to quality prospects for the various retractable systems, ensuring a good customer and business fit.
  2. Sources, networks, and calls related industries and associations to build relationships and generate leads.
  3. Works with clients over the phone, online, or in person (based on the complexity and size of the project) to determine project scope and budget.
  4. Reviews and coordinates project scope details with engineers, vendors, and distributors to determine pricing and timelines that fit the client's expectations as well as the Company's profit goals.
  5. Liaisons with the customer and the project team to review/confirm details and ensure an exceptional project kick off.
  6. Reviews market trends and obstacles, providing internal management with suggestions to help drive the business.
  7. Maintains customer, vendor, and dealer profile information in the systems to ensure accurate data for all to utilize.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Associates Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Technical, or similar field preferred; will consider someone with the equivalent in course work, on the job training, and/or experience. Will consider a HS diploma with direct selling experience.
  2. Experience: 2+ years of direct business development and selling experience to businesses and consumers, selling similar type products within a technical manufacturing or construction environment (i.e., sunrooms, enclosures, home improvement, cabinets/windows, shed structures, architectural projects, backyard renovations, hospitality equipment, pools, windows, customized solutions, etc.). Familiar with high dollar selling and processes.
  3. Certifications: N/A
  4. Functional Skills: Solid business acumen, with foundational mechanical/technical skills to support the customized solutions process. Strong research, analytical, conceptual, project management, math, prioritization and organizational skills are also required to understand the industry and market/sell to others. Excellent with details, problem-solving, and planning to ensure a comprehensive project scope and pricing. Strong budgeting skills are also required.
  5. Technology Skills: Solid technology skills using CRM systems and Microsoft products.
  6. Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; will present ideas and influence others both inside and outside of the organization.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Driven personality, who is assertive and able to build relationships; strong with data yet excellent collaboration and networking skills; can work independently and with others well; enjoys a fast-paced selling environment, can move past barriers and be a strong influencer to get things done. Must be an innovative thinker, quality-minded, have high work standards/ethics, and be a solid decision-maker that can review obstacles and create options.

Other Important Information:

Position Status & Salary: Salaried Position with a competitve base and commission structure. The more you sell the more rewards you will receive! The compensation structure is based on proven expertise in sales success.

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: VP GM and Business Owner

Core Hours: Monday-Friday typically; occasional weekend work at clients or trade shows; with a 40-45 hour work week on average

Travel: Travel to clients and the corporate location; 5 % on average annually

Work Conditions: Office work primarily with some time spent at clients
