What You'll Do:

As the Controller, you will direct, lead, and execute on Accounting & Finance activities that will ensure accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and controls are in place for the area.

Your Accountabilities In The Role:

  1. Plans, manages and directs accounting activities around the transactions of the business (including subsidiaries), to include periodic closings of financial periods, for the delivery of accurate and timely financials.
  2. Reviews monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash balances.
  3. Leads, mentors, and trains the team on financial concepts in relationship to the business to ensure accurate processes and growth of the team.
  4. Reviews and enhances systems and processes to provide more effective data in an efficient way.
  5. Leads, manages, prepares and gathers the data and documentation for internal/external financial pre- and post-audits, to ensure information is accurate and provided timely.
  6. Manages any outsourced activities related to the area to ensure accurate and timely processing and controls.
  7. Develops and ensures sound and compliant processes related to internal controls, policies and procedures, which includes incorporating input from auditors.
  8. Develops and provides asset projections, inventory and accounts receivable status, as well as capital expenditures to ensure assets are in line with budgets and financial goals.
  9. Plans, manages and executes on business projects and priorities, to support the growth of the business.
  10. Researches, reviews, and updates policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance in all areas, integrity of the systems, and segregation of duties, that ensure best practice business and financial processes.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: BS degree in Accounting required
  2. Experience: 7+ years of full accounting, with 5+ years of leadership experience in a similar size manufacturing company. Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance is essential. Some international experience is helpful.
  3. Certifications: CPA not required but is a plus.
  4. Functional Skills: Strength in the ability to research, plan, prioritize, and execute on project and tasks in an effective way; highly process-oriented and strong with details; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to review and analyze large amounts of data; solid project management, corporate and business reporting, and summation skills are also required.
  5. Technology Skills: Proficient with ERP systems, Microsoft Office (especially with Excel), and other software programs.
  6. Language Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills. Able to present, mentor, and train others.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Excellent "Lead by Example" skillset; Strong customer-focus, leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to speak up and provide approaches that will help drive business performance. Ability to make enhancements; conceptual thinker who can handle items independently. Strong collaboration skills and compliance oriented. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of Quality.
  8. Culture Match: Able to be collaborative and resourceful; is self-directed and can work well within a broad set of guidelines; can also work well in a fast-paced environment.

Other Important Information:

Position Status & Salary: Salaried Position. Salary is commensurate with proven expertise and behavior skills that fit the position.

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: CFO

Core Hours: Monday Friday; 8 5:00 pm typically; some extra hours and weekend work at times; with a 45-hour work week on average

Direct Reports: 4

Travel: Approximately 10% travel is required; Limited

Work Conditions: Office environment with some time spent in Operations.
