What You'll Do:

As the Business Development Representative, you will maintain existing customer accounts and find, pursue, and grow new leads for increased overall Company sales.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • You will build and grow relationships with new and existing customers to ensure sales goals are met.
  • You will make sales calls independently and with the Sales Manager to learn from the Sales Manager and establish, maintain, and grow customer relationships.
  • You will educate customers regarding all product lines and services to provide excellent customer service and differentiate the Company from competitors.
  • You will conduct research under the direction of the Sales Manager regarding potential areas of expansion for market share growth.
  • You will attend building association events to network and further establish the Company as a strong player within the region.
  • You will attend product and sales training with vendors to continue to grow skills and expand knowledge and implementation of the sales process.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: HS Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience: 1+ years of sales experience; willing to train the right person
  • Functional Skills: Strong organizational skills with a high sense of urgency; excellent ability to problem solve and intuit unspoken customer needs and wants. Able to present, train, and educate others; solid follow-through and responsive to customer requests; able to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Technology Skills: Solid Microsoft Office and CRM skills required
  • Other Behaviors: Goal-oriented with a strong desire to win; competitive, collaborative, and assertive; excellent communicator with ability to analyze while building relationships; trustworthy, relational, and dependable; highly adaptable and able to thrive under frequent change.

Other Important Information:

Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise with additional commission opportunities based on metrics.


And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!


Reports To: Sales Manager

Core Hours: 8 am - 5 pm

Typical Work Week: M-F; Weekends, Mornings, and Evenings by Appointment; 45-50 hours a week on average

Direct Reports: None

Travel: Approximately 80% or less
