What You'll Do:

As the BIM Operations Manager, you will review, plan, manage, and lead on Building Information Modeling projects from start to finish to ensure they meet the project scope, budget, and schedule.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Reviews, organizes, and manages projects to provide clarity to customers in order to gain understanding of the BIM project scope and details.
  • Collaborates with sales and leadership to successfully bid and execute BIM projects in a way that meets both customer and PPI revenue and profit goals.
  • Manages the Project Kick Off and participates in the project, ensuring accountability and success in each project.
  • Leads the project team, continually reviewing the overall scope, budgeted hours, and deadlines to ensure the team is up to date and the project stays on track.
  • Handles complex issues related to the project scope, timelines and budget to ensure all customer and business goals are achieved and changes are handled effectively.
  • Oversees weekly team meetings to discuss questions and resolve any problems on projects related to software, processes, and/or BIM coordination issues.
  • Monitors and reviews projects for any errors and trains the team on BIM modeling expectations.
  • Recruits, leads, trains, and mentors' others to help build the competencies, PPI Core Values, and the success and retention of the team.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling, CAD, Drafting, Architectural & Construction Management, or similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 3+ years of multi-project management experience, working with BIM application products along with strong experience in Autodesk Revit, along with strong leadership/mentoring skills required. Strong knowledge in AEC disciplines: architectural, structural & MEP; experience with AEC 3D modeling software technologies (ClearEdge 3D EdgeWise, FARO as-built, FARO Scene, AutoDesk ReCap, Cyclone, PointCAB, or similar point cloud modeling softwares) is desired. Knowledge of AIA LOD specifications & USIBD LOA Specifications is also preferred but not required.
  • Certification(s): Project Management Certification would be a plus.
  • Functional Skills: Excellent planning, project, process, and time management skills; ability to multi-task and able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness on the job with excellent follow through to ensure successful projects every time. Ability to think conceptually to manipulate the software data to meet the project scope; excellent resource management, P&L accountability, process creation, and strong business/problem-solving skills to manage projects to the goals.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Excellent Microsoft skills, with solid understanding of BIM software applications, Ghantt Charts, and other system skills, preferably using Linux and virtual servers on Amazon, along with AWS cloud services and API (Application Program Interfaces); will provide specific training on the current software used.
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present, train, educate and mentor others both externally and internally.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Customer focused; accountable; professional, strong initiative and motivation, with a positive demeanor, polite and kind; can mentor, listen, influence others, and respond on solutions to meet project goals; steady yet assertive to move projects forward; innovative "can do" attitude with excellent collaboration skills to create enhancements; can work independently and with teams; uses logic to make sound and timely decisions and judgments; high attention to quality and safety with the ability to initiate new ideas/changes that will help drive the business.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: Salary and bonus is commensurate with proven expertise.

Reports To: CEO

Core Hours: 8am – 5pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 – 9 hours within this timeframe)

Typical Work Week: M-F; occasional weekend work; 45 – 50 hours a week on average

Direct Reports: BIM Data operators

Travel: Limited; trips to the Corp Office, if remote (4 - 6 times per year)
