What You'll Do:

As the Equipment Reliability Engineer, you will develop, implement and execute the equipment reliability infrastructure strategy and processes for the facility to ensure production and company goals are met.

Your Accountabilities in The Role:

  • Develops Root Cause strategies and processes for the department to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Establishes and tracks important KPI's to drive improvement of equipment reliability.
  • Improves the equipment reliability through the analysis and reporting of existing data, and by finding new ways of gathering data, that supports improved equipment uptime.
  • Reviews plant production equipment environment (e.g., technology, systems, quality, cost, efficiencies, yield) to recommend equipment and process improvements.
  • Develops Equipment Criticality Analysis and FMEA Data Analysis to be able to define and forecast equipment reliability, longevity and asset purchasing needs.
  • Develops and leads the existing PM and PdM programs, making revisions as needed to optimize equipment reliability.
  • Assists in developing a Scheduling & Planning process for front-line technicians on reliability standards to ensure department goals are met.
  • Assists as technical advisor in reviewing all operator, equipment reliability and facility technicians training material to ensure it is up-to-date. May provide related training to team members.
  • Assists in identifying, coordinating, monitoring, and managing outside vendors and contractors to facilitate repairs and installations. Plus, ensures that specifications and agreed upon timelines are within compliance.
  • Assists in the establishment, analysis, and submission of yearly department budgets and Capex projects to meet budgetary goals.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive industrial experience in maintenance, engineering, a mechanical role, or similar type position preferred.
  • Certification(s): RCM based educational training with a Reliability Certification; Certified Reliability and Maintenance Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Reliability and Maintainability Implementation Certification (RMIC) is preferred.
  • Functional Skills: Ability to access gaps in design and performance of equipment, design corrective actions, and make basic corrections and repair plans; Knowledge of analytical engineering tools including critical path problem solving and root cause analysis in order to determine design feasibility and identify variation from performance specifications; Knowledge of the principles of change management within an engineering system, this includes the ability to use engineering change documentation and approval to manage supply of parts, maintenance, installation, removal and refurbishment to a base of existing equipment to maximize equipment life and minimize ownership costs. Strong process and detail orientation with excellent planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills are required to work effectively in this position. Can make logical decisions focused on the goals of the organization. Excellent problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively enhance the manufacturing area. Ability to plan and manage to budgets.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficient MS Office Skills; CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management System experience; Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs are standard on site.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Self-driven; results-focused. Able to take initiative and be a strategic thinker to proactively anticipate needs and deliver adaptive and sustainable solutions. High-quality minded individual; meticulous with work and safety focused. Position Status & Salary: Pay is commensurate with proven expertise.

Reports To: Reliability & Maintenance Manager

Core Hours: Monday through Friday; 7:00 am – 3:00pm (flexible on schedule; can be 6 – 2:00 pm or 8 – 4:00 pm) Some weekend work may be required based on needs.

Travel: n/a

Work Conditions: Ability to push/lift up to 50 lbs.; will drive forklifts and scissor lifts to stock and deliver kits
