What You'll Do:

As a Printing Machine Operator, you will handle the set-up, operation, troubleshooting, final inspection, and assembly of the printed material in an on-time, complete, and error-free way.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Reviews the production order and blue prints, with the material allocated, to ensure accuracy and a high-quality product that aligns to the customer specifications.
  • Maneuvers material to set up within the machine, with adherence to the layout, schedule and safety requirements.
  • Performs the set-up, operation, trouble-shooting, and change-over of the various machines to ensure accurate and efficient output within the areas of cutting, plotting, slitting, striping, splicing, trimming, etc.
  • Continually verifies measurements and inspects the material quality to ensure adherence with customer specifications and to minimize waste/rejects.
  • Prepares the finished product for the next step or delivery, printing and adding paperwork/labels, with gently rolling and boxing material, where appropriate.
  • Completes production records and material tags after the production run, ensuring complete, accurate and thorough information.
  • Inspects the finished material/roll to ensure the deliverance of a high-quality product.
  • Collaborates and/or mentors others to continually help build the skillset of the team.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 1+ years of related experience operating computer-driven machines preferred; will train the right person.
  • Certification(s): N/A
  • Functional Skills: This role requires the ability to perform machine set up, operation, and light trouble-shooting. High attention to detail with an ability to read and understand documents, procedures and blue print specifications, along with the ability to match part numbers accurately. Basic math and counting skills are required. This role also requires strong prioritization skills, as well as an ability to multitask (running a machine and assembling product at the same time), with creative, problem-solving skills to think through issues in a fast-paced environment to meet output goals.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic computer skills, data entry, and basic machine operation
  • Language Skills: Basic reading, writing, and verbal English communication skills
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Strong work ethic, energy level, pace, and values; strong focus on the customer, quality and accuracy, with the flexibility to move to priorities throughout the operation areas, following all Safety requirements.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: $15.00 - $22.00 based on proven experience with computerized production machines.

  • And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Core Hours: 5:00 am - 2:30 pm or 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Core hours Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday; (Currently working 9 hours five days a week, flexible hours)

Typical Work Week: M-F; with an occasional Saturday; 45 - 48 hours a week on average during peak times.

Travel: None

Work/Environment: Operates computer-driven machines, uses Exacto knives to trim material. Able to maneuver material up to 50 lbs. occasionally; automated lifting devices and additional help is available for heavier work. Requires good vision with ability to see colors.
